The routine of the people has been affected a lot due to the protective lockdown in the Corona period. In the corona epidemic, people rarely go for morning walks, which health experts say is very harmful to health. In a recent study related to this, researchers show that if you regularly go out for a walk in the fresh air, it can prove to be extremely beneficial for both physical and mental health. All people must include this habit in their daily routine to maintain their health better.

A new study revealed that due to Climate change Human height and brain shrink

Health experts say that due to the restrictions imposed due to corona, people are turning away from the habit of going for walks in the fresh air, this habit can be considered harmful from the health point of view. This should also be seen as a possible factor for the increasing cases of mental health in the Corona period.

It is very important to take a walk in the open air

The scientific study, led by researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and the Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), suggested that the habit of taking a walk in the fresh air not only positively affects our physical health but also the structure of the brain. Even if you only go for a short walk in the open air, it can have many benefits. This study has been published in The World Journal of Biological Psychiatry.

Research is done by multi-level study

For this study, researchers followed six middle-aged men regularly for six months and monitored their activities. More than 280 scans of these people’s brains were done using MRI. The focus was on the experiences and behaviour of all participants throughout the day, with a specific focus on the one hour that the participants spent outdoors. In addition, participants were asked about their intake of liquid and caffeinated beverages, time spent outside, and physical activity, to find out how these factors might affect the brain.

Increases in working memory and concentration

Simon Kuhn, head of the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and lead author of the study, says that based on the conclusion of this study, it can be said that when we spend time outside in the open air, it improves our brain structure and mood. It can be very helpful in enhancing working memory and concentration. Not only this, but it can also bring about changes in the brain that provide the ability to solve challenging tasks easily. We need to have direct contact with the environment.

What are the study findings?

Anna Mascherek of the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), says the findings of this study may also be helpful in the treatment of mental disorders. Doctors may recommend a walk in the fresh air as part of therapy for psychotic patients. The way we have seen the results, it can be said on the basis that the habit of going out in the open air can be very helpful in reducing the problems of mental diseases to a great extent.
