For this study, researchers followed six middle-aged men regularly for six months and monitored their activities. More than 280 scans of these people’s brains were done using MRI. The focus was on the experiences and behaviour of all participants throughout the day, with a specific focus on the one hour that the participants spent outdoors. In addition, participants were asked about their intake of liquid and caffeinated beverages, time spent outside, and physical activity, to find out how these factors might affect the brain.
